Jason Harwell – Executive Pastor

Originally from Putnam County, Georgia, Jason first came to Athens in 2001 to begin a Masters Degree program in Art Education at the University of Georgia. After a successful summer camp romance, he married Jana in 2002 and subsequently became a dad to Molly, Sam, and Nate some years later. He has a diverse work history, having spent time in the nonprofit sector (running a nonprofit record label), the private sector (marketing manager for a local hotel & music venue), and the public sector (12 years in the Athens-Clarke County Communications Department).

The Harwells have been at Classic City Church since the first service at Alps Road Elementary in January 2008, and in the years since, Jason has volunteered in nearly every ministry area at one point or another. He currently volunteers as a member of the worship team.
