Syvelle and Lovie Phillips

Syvelle Phillips has served the Lord in full-time ministry for 60 years, during which he has ministered in over 100 different nations.

In 1976, after serving as senior pastor of the largest Assembly of God church in the US, Syvelle began Evangel Bible Translators with no money or staff. Since then, Syvelle and his team of translators have devoted millions of hours to studying and recording the nearly 7,000 languages spoken worldwide, focusing particularly on dialects of the 750,000,000 people who do not have a translation of the Bible in their mother tongue.

Lovie Phillips has served with her husband in ministry since their marriage 58 years ago. In 1973 she began a ministry to orphans overseas called Christian Communication Commission (CCC). Today CCC’s 14 different orphanages meet the physical and spiritual needs of over 4000 otherwise helpless children  in 12 different nations.

Syvelle and Lovie will be ministering in the 10:45 am church service and in the evening at 8:00 at the Young Life leadership training meeting held at First Methodist Church.
