Paul wrote the book of Colossians to a gathering of new Christians while he was imprisoned in Rome during the middle of the first century. The city of Colossae was located in the Lycus valley of Western Asia Minor. Historians tell us during that time this region was thriving with many different religions and supposed deities. This verse by verse series focuses on Paul’s concern to clearly distinguish Christ from all other supposed deities and highlight the spectacular effects His salvation has on our lives.
